Maybe he should check all factory recall or complaints for the 1997 V6
model. Maybe there is a recall back then....ask Bernd.

Let's remember that the timing chain on the V6 SHOULDN'T break at 48,000,
but many list members have had problems with the timing chain at this
mileage....myself included. I had mine replaced at 40,000, due to lots of
slack in it and it slapping. Had I let it go another 8000 miles, I assume
it could have broke. This doesn't seem to be uncommon problem with the V6.
