I should apologize. I was being sarcastic. Jason suggested that simply
because there was air between the TB and the manifold, that somehow it ended
up resulting in more air in the cylinder per stroke. I was trying
(unsuccessfully, I guess) to make a joke.

Horsepower TV had a segment on carb spacers this weekend. Wood was the
"best" material (don't recall why) but needed constant
checking/replacement because fuel eats away at the stuff. However, on
our MPI engines, I would think that's not much of a factor - gas is
introduced farther downstream.
Anyway, if you're thinking about making a Po'Boy spacer, at least
