Hi John, it's Kevin with the mini-14 in NJ. Just to clarify, the Ranch Rifle
version in stainless with fixed wood stock is not listed as a banned weapon
in NJ, but all variants with folding stocks, bayonnet lugs or short barrels
are. The law's very specific as to model #, and mine's OK. After all, I
bought it at K-Mart! (Thanks, Rosie! :) ) The muzzle brake is aftermarket &
removable, and I only use 10 rd. mags, I'm not a Rambo wannabe. It's topped
with a Simmons 3-9x32 ss scope. BTW, want the Ruger to shoot better? I used a
dremel & rounded the edges of the trigger, and put a set of Hogue
finger-groove grips on my P94 DAO. Usually burn through 300 rounds at the
range with no discomfort at all.
