Just to clarify though, yes, you're in there, but it's more work to
change the valve springs and retainers. I've never done it, but I've
heard it involves using air pressure in the cylinder to keep the
valves from falling in. I installed Crower 1.7's, no guideplates, no
changing springs. Crower claims this setup is fine up to 5500rpm. I
shift at 5200rpm WOT.
