I should have specified. I want to get the Stage II for a 2000 4.7 Auto.

This sounds like a 3.9 and 4.7 proposition. My guess is that the 5.2 and
5.9 or so detonation prone that bumping the advance is hurtful not helpful.
If you could play with the shape of the curve I bet you could get more out
of a 5.9. They like early advance and lots of it then get sensitive to too
much. You can get more RPM out of a 360 by retarding the timing at the
high end. Most motors respond this way, the 360 just seems more sensitive
to it than others.
