If the explosion you saw was the one at the super chebby show... I witnessed
that one
in person. The block was blown in half and the crank broke through the frame.
Bill Kuhlmann spent about two weeks in the hospital for that one. Its time
they took up the NHRA requirements for nitro funny cars. That was the second
engine explosion of the weekend, the first guy was a bit more lucky, as he
only had minor burns.
