Actually Bernd, being from the Northwest (I'm just exiled to St. Louis) I
can confirm the driftwood out there does turn a really nice silver color
after soaking in saltwater and bleaching in the sun. It takes a while,
though. And out there 'driftwood' means hundreds of giant trees piled up on
the beach!
