But does it cause as many accidents? I'd like to see statistics on
accidents caused by street racing versus accidents caused by DUI. I'd
bet good money DUI accidents are higher, and not because more people
drive under the influence than street race, because a lot of people
street race.>>>

Ok, I am not defending street racing here, but DUI has a very personal
problem with me. Street racing has occured in the past, occurs everyday in
the present, and will occur in the future also. Yes, racing should be done
on a sanctioned 1/4 or 1/8 mile stretch, or if you prefer to drive around in
circles till you find the finish line, an oval track. I prefer a straight
line myself. As far as DUI is concerned, I wish that anyone that gets
stopped for DUI would lose their liscense to drive for a period longer than
one year, and would have to serve a minimum jail time sentence. I know some
of you might think this is harsh, but try burying your 31 year old cousin and
his wife of 2 years who is 7 months pregnant with their first kid, then have
to bury your best friend who was killed her senior prom night, and then have
to bury another good friend the same year. That happened to me. The guy who
hit my cousin and his wife hit them hard enough to bust his motor and trans
mounts. When the police arrived, he was trying to crank his truck so he
could leave I guess. The law only suspended his liscense for 3 months and he
spent a total of 6 days in jail!!!!!!! The guy who killed my frined her prom
night kept his liscense and only spent 3 weeks in jail!!!!!! The other
friend of mine, the person who hit them never got anything. Now, which do I
think is worse? DUI. I've got to stop now, I can't type anymore, too much
pain, too many memories........
