I raced a 97 chebby today, spanked him like a redheaded stepchild, but I
heard a clacking noise come from the engine that I never have before. I
slammed it into 2nd *from about 50mph or so* and floored the loud pedal, and
well, I thot I shifted to 2nd.. *maybe I dumped it to 1st..* It tached to
5500, and I heard a clacking noise coming from the engine. When I
upshifted, it quit clacking, and no problems the rest of the way home. Was
this valve float? She still run fine, and I had to drive her another 4
miles to get home; without incident.
