It would be great if you could define 'certain extreme heats'.
When you say 'obviously, someone has run into these problems..' what are you
referring to? Its not obvious to me. What 'other applications'?
Warnings without information have a tendency to come off as, well, uninformed.
I have checked the temperature of my ABS plasic intake on a hot day. When
running it is quite cool. After shutoff the heat from the block/intake do seep
into it but it was never too hot to keep my hand on. So worst case scenario is
that I get some odd gases upon startup after the tube has heated after shutoff
that quickly move through the engine and are combusted/gone. For the HP gain
I've gotten this is a tradeoff that is just fine with me.
Caution is a good thing, but not if it removes the ability to act.
