While you were working on the flywheel, did you happen to move the
crankshaft position sensor or rattle it loose?
And BTW...for any future reference on the camshaft position sensor and how
many notches in the flywheel:
2.5L = two sets of four notches (8)
3.9L = three single notches and three double-notches (9)
5.2/5.9L = eight notches
(And you thought you could stump me!) ;)

Subject: DML: truck problems, please help!
I've been without my truck about a week due to the clutch going out and
me not having enough time to work on it. The problem now is that I have
everything back together, new clutch, and the darn thing won't run
right. It has the check engine light on and it is running really rough
and lopey. It kind of sounds like it's stroked (this is a V6!) really
weird. The clutch is also really light and easy to push in. It
accelerates and runs like poop and I don't know what the heck the deal
is. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Here's what I did:
took off driveshaft
supported tranny and took off crossmember
took off whole exhaust
took off starter
undid all the wires going to the tranny
unbolted the tranny and took it down
unbolted the pressure plate (had to use impact wrench because with the
socket I'd just rotate the engine)
took off old pressure plate and disc
sanded & cleaned flywheel
installed new disc and pressure plate
put new throwout bearing on tranny
installed tranny (before bolting it up all the way I remembered the
crankshaft position sensor and slid it in the hole)
bolted the rest of the tranny up
hooked up the sensor onto the tranny
installed the starter
installed exhaust (made sure to put O2 sensor back on)
put on crossmember
put on driveshaft
When I got done I was so happy. I started it up and that's where I'm at
now, not too happy and wondering what the hell I did wrong.
Anyone have any experience with this? What should I check? What do you
suggest I do?
Please respond to me directly 'cause I'm in digest mode and it takes
awhile to get messages from it.
Thanks,
Chris Hannon
