That was probably Steve Wann's truck. He has a 440 GTX too. Those trucks
use Tri City Competition leaf springs and CalTracs. They are usually
automatics with 4000 stall converters. They have the front suspension
loosened up with 4 cyl. springs and loose shocks. Also lightweight front
wheels and tires. They run low first gear sets with 4.88-5.13 rear gears
with 9x30 radial slicks.
The "stock" 360 magnum puts out about 410 hp at the crank.
On a good track like Pomona in good weather they will pull both tires
nearly a foot off the ground. No wheelie bars allowed in stock though.
Even with the A/S cars it really isn't necessary, but it does get fun!
