Yep, this is the problem I'm having running the 180 tstat in my 4.7L, it
stays in open loop, and after some time frame, it will give me a CEL, I'm
using a piece of cardboard to block off the radiator for normal driving, when
I go racing I just pull that out and run in open loop.
