I thought so too.

I talked to the owners of 2001 4.7 automatics and some 2000 and not the
same. Did you buy yours in Oct thru Dec timeframe? Maybe a pattern here.

I have that same sound when I put in drive from Park. Thats been there from
day one. I thought it was normal.
