Sorry for keeping this post going, but if you read the article, this is the
Cobra 'R'.
Apparently Ford make the following vehicle models for the Mustang: V-6, V-6
Sport, GT, Cobra, and Cobra 'R' (meaning Racing version).
The only release for the year 2000 was the 'R' version on the Cobra line.
The engine is a 5.4 Truck motor that was retuned. Not the typical 4.6,
32-valve version. To make it a collectors item, they only build 300 each.
The regular was cancelled for the year 2000 due to the problems of the 99
Cobra HP claim and fixes. There is a current revamping (rumor now) that the
next Cobra may come in the 2001 year as a 2002 model with that same motor.
The next 'R' version may not hit again until 2003 or 2004 with another
limited run.
