alright.... everyone gather around, it's story time!!
So, I'm driving back from a rehearsal last night and had, just a couple
miles ago, spanked me a ricer. Well, I'm driving along, all proud of myself
for vanquishing another vinyl sticker-mobile when I see 2 little round
headlights come zipping up on my tailgate!
So, being the polite person I am (HA!) I move over to the right lane to let
my fellow traveler by. Well, he gets up next to me and revs it up! Usually
it takes more coaxing than that to get me to bite, but this time he got it
right away! I held up my hand with 3 fingers up, then dropped fingers one at
a time... 3...2...1... HIT IT!
I nail it and instantly pull 3 carlengths..4... 5.. okay, I'm goin' 80 so
I'll get out of it...
A red light is approaching and we both stop. I look over and there is a
coffee-house lookin' beatnick dude drivin', and looking aaaawwwfffullly
determined to beat that damn lowrider (me). The other lights turn orange and
he starts rollin' forward (like it's gonna' help!). I load up the ol'
converter and wait...
GREEN!!
I come out of the hole like a Matt Barret clutch dump and instantly go from
1 full length behind (on account of his rolling start) to him at my door.. I
hit 2nd gear hard with a chirp and pull another length... 2... 3...4....6..
oh man... I'm at 80 again... I get out of it, but make sure to stay ahead
because we have 1 lane comin' up on account of construction... he falls in
behind and we roll casually through the construction... after the lanes open
back up, he darts to the left lane and punches it... okay, last time... I
hit it and I pull away again...
man... what a good spank!! =)
