I also wondered if you got a bad throw out bearing or maybe a warped
clutch disc that is dragging. I'll bet you just got a bad gear box. I was
telling George that I tried something tonight just to see if it would go. I
down shifted into 1st at 40 mph without any effort. Didn't let the clutch out
though, I figured that would be real abuse. I had no problem down shifting
into 3rd at 85 from 5th either. So, What can I say man.
I think I read something about some bad shift forks that were put in some
of the 5 speeds. Something about them being machined wrong or something. I
wonder if yours happened to get one of those. Bill
