That even sounds more like open-loop. When you're in open-loop the PCM
stops reading O2 sensors and adjusting your air/fuel mixture to lean it out
(for emissions). Instead it uses the built-in tables which enriches your
mixture, kind of like the same thing as when you want power and you put your
foot into it.

Actually that's more bad than good. 140-155 puts you in open-loop. A "good"
t-stat should close if the coolant gets too cold and open up again when the
coolant reaches the correct temp.

I did noticed on hot days it rides the 180 mark and cold days it rides in
the 140-155 mark. Amazing thermostat.
