you are right, 5W-30 is the recommended weight oil for the 4.7 because of
the clearances built into the oil pump.In very hot weather, 10W-30 is ok
because the heat gets the oil thin as 5W-30.HTH,

I may be wrong, but for 4.7's I think the manual specifies 5w-30 exclusively
for everything short of desert ambient conditions. Might have something to
do with very tight piston clearances.
