I'd pull the computer codes. Computer is shutting you down for some
reason. Either IAS not working, Throttle Position Sensor now working or
something of that sorts.

I was getting this problem a couple weeks ago when I cleaned the TB and got
gumout in the IAS. It didn't like that and computer was reporting a short
in the IAS.

You can look up the computer codes on at www.dakota-truck.net

Clean IAC first. See if that cures the problem.

Anyone ever have their Dak just die right after it starts up?

Starting on Saturday my 98 Dak would just die right after it would start
up.
This has occurred after I had driven it and came back to start it again.
The engine would turn over with my key in the start position. After
letting
go of the key, the engine would stumble and die in the run position. It
would start up again and stay running if I give it some gas. I checked
my
battery and it has a full charge. My volt meter reads around the 14
volt
mark. I have a stock ignition.

TIA,
Ken
