Isn't it wonderful how the manufacturers come up with either different names
or acronyms for the same @#$! thing? ;)

The sensor on the backside of the TB is called the AIS sensor, atleast it is
called this on GenII Dakotas. It stands for the Automatic Idle Sensor, and
it is actually called an 'AIS Motor'. It had to do with idle quality and
such. I had it replaced under warranty once, and have thrown an AIS related
fault code since then. I have replaced it once, and the code never came
back. I think it was around $40 through the dealer. I make sure to take it
out and clean the tip off once every 10,000 miles, or whenever I clean the
TB with a can of Gumout Throttle Body & Intake Cleaner. The sensor on the
front of the TB is the MAP sensor, and the one on the driver's side is the
TPS Sensor.
