Re(2) Evaporator going out?...(Michael)

Michael,
Does it make any noise w/ the compressor off? Try turning the blower on by
itself w/o the a/c. If you look at the fan switch on the dash it has off and
(I think) six other settings. Put it on the one w/ the arrow coming out of
the vent. It's @ the 1:00 position on mine, Or 2:00 which is floor.If it's
not the blower it is the compressor making the noise. They do that when
they are low on oil or when they are fixing to go out. The evaporator would
not make that kind of noise, But it could leak allowing the oil to get out
of the system. Then your a/c wouldn't cool. And you would hear the
compressor cycle on and off due to the low pressure switch cutting in and
out. HTH and doesn't confuse you.
