The Fact is, Mercedes designed the 4.7L, no question. The statement about
this being Chrysler's first all-new production V8 in 41 years, has nothing to
do with who designed it, thats something you all are reading into it. Its
been stated in more than a few publications that this engine was designed by
former Mercedes engineers.
