Say HD Ram...HD Ford...now HD Chevy. With a bigger payload and requirement
for more stability, the larger tires/rims, brakes etc. will provide enough
contact/support surfaces for any big rig.
Looking at the last forty years, most manufactures were known to cut corners
(i.e. pulling tire/rims, brakes, shocks off the car line and place them on
the vans/trucks). Now with stern competition from a global auto
manufacturing, it is a science in building a vehicle to the right set of
components.
Now when ever they can get around on making 20-inch rims for my Dak...
