O-K all, it's time we have a moment of silence. America's Oldest
Automobile Manufacturer is officially dead at 103 years old today. As
the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Little history
here, '39, first fully automatic tranny, '49, first OHV V-8, '57, first
tri-power set up, '62, first factory turbocharged car, '66, first full
size FWD car, '74, first SRS (airbags) among many other innovative
things. Paced the Indy 500 10 times, '49, '60, '70, '72, '74, '77, '85,
'89, '97, and '00. They got it right in the 60's wih the 4-4-2 for the
"younger" crowd, upper management never got off their pompus a$$es to do
a repeat. Shame. Down goes another legend. I can see the price for parts
for my '66 will probably skyrocket now....... :(
