One question about this. What if I looked in the windshield of a truck,
wrote down the VIN number as it appears on that wonderful little plate on
the dash, and go to a locksmith. I tell him this sad story that I lost my
key and need a new one, cuz I'm stupid and don't have a spare. Now,
imagine, this ISN'T my car, rather one I thought I'd like to own but am too
poor to, so I've got this bright idea to write down the VIN and get a key.
What keeps a Locksmith from cutting a key and giving it to a would be theif?
Just an thought. The way you wrote it, makes me suddenly paranoid someone
could easily get into a car. However, I guess its tough as if it wasn't
someone would have done it already?
