Actually, it would be a great way for Chrysler to keep a database on each of
the vehicles they make. The VIN number, being Unique, would be an excellent
way to have ONE number for all information they keep on a vehicle.
They would have all the information they needed on your vehicle with the VIN
and it could all stay in thier database exclusively, perhaps with access
going to Chrysler dealerships/parts depts so they can better service you.
