We had bad weather today? News to me! It was cold this morning, but
that was it. In fact, the weather was, aside from being windy,
downright glorious up until about 3PM, when it started getting
overcast. The snow's supposed to hit hard from 1AM to 7Am.
Where & when was the accident on 481 tonight? I didn't see anything,
but came through about 4:45-5:00 (I assume we both get off at the same
exit). I damn near got rear-ended a LOT on the drive home tonight, all
the way from 690 to 481 and *especially* on my final stretch down 92 in
Manlius.
I'm not worried about my driving when it hits the fan around here,
Mike. I have no problems driving in the snow; I'm confident in my
abilities and know the limits of my truck. However, there are vast
numbers of total idiots around who I am sure will end up running into
me. You'd figure people who live downwind of a lake that dumps as much
snow as it does would know how to drive in the snow.
So far this season, I have not had snow slow me down more than 5 minutes
getting to work in the morning. Why? Because while everyone else is
"sticking to the main roads" in hopes that they'll be clear (and
clogging them with traffic), I'm taking the back roads that no one else
is on!

Another goober was following too closely to the pack and swerved into the ditch to miss the mile long line-causing a second accident. Tripled the time it takes me to get home GRRRRRR!!!!! I'm really worried

But most people in the south Do not know how to drive in the snow or ice. and drive way to fast for the conditons. The driving during the snow and ice is diffrent down here then north of here.
