Sorry for the off topic, but I figure someone on here will know the answer
to my question. Email me privately if you want, so we dont take up room in
fellow DMLer mailboxes. Question is this:
My girlfriend has a 2000 Dodge Durango PT4x4 Sport 4.7L V8. Now with the
Sport package, you dont get a roof rack/luggage rack. I wanted to put one on
her truck and surprise her for the holiday season. I called the dealer and
it will cost $115 for the 2 large 'braces' which run from one side of the
truck to the over. I will also need the 4 sections which run parallel, front
to rear. I was told these will cost $40 for all 4. Question is this: How do
the 4 sections adhere to the truck's roof? I assume with some type of 3M
adhesive tape, just not 100% sure. Also, can the top two large 'braces' be
moved or adjusted, or is there just one place on the sides to mount them. I
am first going to look at local junk yards, being the cheap a$$ I am, and
hopefully will be able to find the large top two braces and save some money
this way. If the smaller 4 sections are indeed taped onto the roof, then I
guess I will have to spend $40 and buy them through the dealer. Thanks for
