someone
here might have some insight. My winter/offroad vehicle is a '92 Ram 4x4
with
a 318 Magnum and the A518 tranny. If I accellerate aggressively from a stop
(as agressively as a 17.9 second truck can accellerate anyway) ;-), the darn
tranny won't go into overdrive! I have to shut off the engine and re-start.

Its almost as if the computer decides "oh, you want to go into high
performance
mode, eh?" and I'm stuck in 3rd gear at 55mph with little to no pressure on
the
 gas pedal.

Now, I'm not sure if its actually not going into OD or if its just not
locking
up (maybe both), but the RPMs sure are up there! It only gets 10-13mpg as
it
is, I don't need any of this sort of "help" from the tranny! :-)

  Thanks!

Jon, I remember something about some Rams/Daks had a bad pressure governer
solenoid in them. Usually it keeps it from shifting before the redline, but
I could understand it causing this problem also. Worth a try though.
