  Interesting. :-) My '91 VR-4 actually had AWS, but it was only a minimal
amount; maybe 20 degrees, and only at higher speeds to help with cornering, not
for parking. On a related note, I hear that London taxicabs actually have
differential steering; one wheel turns more than the other, which allows for a
really tight turning radius, and essentially causes both wheels to turn at the
same rate, so you could actually have a locked front diff if you wanted to. :-
)

  The only thing that concerns me is when someone gets used to the 4WS in their
silverado and they jump into a truck without 4WS, will mayhem ensue as they
smash into parked cars and misjudge other traffic? Hmmm...
