I was going to do that Luke, but it ended up I ruined the complete rear end,
housing, case, gears, everything was ruined, except the axles, and brakes!!
About the only alternative I had was to either go with a 8 3/4 or 9", buy a
used '00-'01 rear (not many available), or buy a new one from DC. Had to fork
out $1050 for the new unit, it ended up coming with everything, minus the
axles. I know it won't hold up to the kinda launches I was giving it, so I'll
have to back off of it. I'll upgrade to a locker style at some point, my
Arsss still hurts from the grand I just spent on a new (weak ;)rear!! I guess
DC did'nt make them strong enough for the 4.7L ;) hee hee!!!, or maybe it was
those 3500 clutch dumps??? hmmm??

<< Matt,
If you're gonna keep racing the Dakota you might want to consider a Detroit
locker. It would eleminate what exploded last time, the spider gears.
Atleast that would eleminate one weak link...
