My 2000 Dakota Sport has the NV 242 transfer case,
which does include a locking center diff. (It's
included with the 4.7L V8 and automatic transmission
drivetrain.)

After a fair amount of hunting on the semi-functional
Dodge website, I found that the transfer case in the
2001 with 4.7L V8 and automatic is different. It's the
NV 244.

I don't know if it locks or not.

There are still 2000 models available for sale on
dealer lots. Call before midnight tonight :-)
