Phil,
Check the instructions in your owner's manual or the sticker on the back
of the driver's sun visor to be sure, but all the Mopar 4x4s that I know of
have said to only shift into 4LO in neutral, and you should be sitting
still or going VERY slow (i.e. barely moving). The shift should be made in
a quick, firm manner, as opposed to the smooth gentle pull used between 2WD
and 4HI.
