I had an idea that may increase fuel economy maybe 15-20% if it works,
but need help with the details; I need a primer on IAS operation and
parameters.
My plan is to increase IAS flow, upon cruise control activation, so that
the truck can "idle" at a certain speed with the throttle closed. this
would put the computer in a "coast" mode which would up the A/F to much
leaner mix. I think that the big 5.9 should be able to pull 50-60mph at
this leaner mixture without self-destructing. In the event that the load
were to increase the cruise control would just open the throttle to
compensate and the mix goes back to normal.
