So what is a good street/strip performance Mopar 5-speed tranny?

The clutch on my AX-15 v6 tranny grabs about 2" - 3" from resting position.
It took some getting used to, but comes in handy when speed shifting. The
clutch is hydraulic and depresses very easy. Actually a little too easy as
it's almost impossible to feel the "catch point".

The throw is on the long side, but it's typical of a truck shifter. I'm not
sure if someone has come out with a new shifter or not, but it might be
worth looking. The shift is a bit notchy as well. I've heard that synthetic
fluid helps out, but I've yet to change mine out so I don't know how much of
a difference it makes.
