I have a 2000 4x4 CC 4.7 auto with just under 8000 miles on it. I get about
14mpg in the city (in the Big Dig in Boston - so there's a lot of stops and
lights). The surprising thing is I get about 21.5 mpg on the highway. I
guess the 4.7 is most efficient on the highway. The engine is stock but I
intend to put a Z-tube as well as a cat-back in sometime this year (it was
one of my new year resolutions!)
