Opinions vary greatly. Vipers, Vettes and other cars come with Mobil 1
in the crankcase from the factory. Some folks say to wait about 3K,
others have done it at 1K.
It's a good idea to change your oil a couple times early on; One
recommendation is at 1K and 3K, to make sure you get any metal and sandy
bits from break-in and manufacturing out as quickly as possible. Mobil
1 is more expensive than old-fashioned dino oil, so if money's a
concern, I'd say stick with the regular until you're out of that initial
break-in period.
