Will, congrats! Sounds like that '78 silverado had some
traction problems. He's got to be putting out some hp!

Yes, you heard it here! Will has been racing a few people! Ok spank #1-a '78
silverado swb that is built pretty hard(.30 over 350,aluminum intake,gm
large valve heads,headers,850 holley,no breather,280h crane magnum cam,10:1
flat tops,350 turbo tranny w/2400 stall,3.42 gear) had been revving at me
all week and on saturday night he pulled up next to me at the red light and
he says "let's go"! So, I took of real easy in 1st like I usually do and he
jumped 2 trucks out in front which pissed me off, so I nailed it and wound
1st to 5000! By that time I was even with him,and I barked a second and
wound it to about 4700! At that point I was two trucks out in front of him.I
caught a little 3rd and we stopped at the redlight we were approaching.He
looks over and says "let's really race this time" So, I was willing to let
him have a piece of the goat and I said "alright, greenlight until the next
intersection!".Light turned and I let him jump me about half a truck before
I matted it and blew past him.I grabbed second and left 2 posi marks in my
lane about 2 feet long.I then grabbed third and left a pair of little
marks(about 6-8 inches).I looked back and saw him about 4 truck lengths
behind!!!! He stopped at the next redlight and asked me if I would go down
to the little stretch of river bottom road that is long enough to race a
little more than an 1/8 mi in.I said "I think you know what I've got,we'll
just leave it at that".He came back to town where I was with my friends and
they had already heard about me spanking his ass.I found out the next day
from some people that talked to him soon after and they asked him how it
went for him.He told them "You don't want anything to do with him-I was
spraying a 125 shot off the line and he blew past me and never looked back!
And the dude caught rubber in 2nd and 3rd!" Needless to say, even I was
impressed that I outran anything spraying a 125 shot! HEHEHE!
Spank #2-I was running along about 40 mph in town alongside a 2001 chevrolet
silverado-swb,2wd,5.3L/4L60E/3.73 posi gear and I didn't know whose it
was-but the passenger side window came rolling down and a guy I know pretty
well looked out the window and said "let's kick 'em"!! HeHe! So,I
downshifted to 3rd and rolled up alongside him turning about 2800 rpms and I
said "well, go ahead!" So the dude floored his truck and I let him get it to
kickdown to second before I matted mine.It wasn't even funny! I ran off and
left him so hard! I shifted to fourth and looked back only to see his
headlights still fading! I met the guy later that evening while I was parked
talking to my buddies and he was asking me all about my truck.I asked him if
he would like to take a ride in a real hot rod and he said "absolutely, I
wanna see what this things got" So I let him have it when I got to a place
where I could show him.Needless to say he was dissapointed in his purchase
of his silverado after his head was planted in to the back of my seat 4
times during a pretty good little run.Hope ya'll enjoyed this,
