I have three theories, ranging from downright paranoid to the
almost logical... :-) I suspect the truth is some combination
of the three.
1) Vast conspiracy. The Chebby and Phoard guys have an inferiority
complex and are trying to choke us out of the aftermarket.
2) The "other guys" need all the help they can get. Maybe the
aftermarket guys don't think they can improve upon perfection.
3) Supply and demand. There's a saying that goes something like,
"Think about how stupid the average person is. Now, realize
that, by definition, half of the population is even more stupid
than that!" Uninformed people buy silly vehicles, therefore
Mopar has a fairly small market share. Where is the money? Its
in making parts for the huge segment of the population that drives
silly vehicles.
No offense to you guys who own some "other" brand; heck, my family
has a couple of "other" vehicles parked in the driveway, too, its
just a theory. :-)
