Re: Pulling Codes

Its possible the 180 t stat is not allowing the PCM to go into open loop (or
closed loop ??) causing a rich condition. Truck is running to cold. What part
of the country are you in Chris??? If its been real cold out lately this
could be a problem. You may want to block a portion of the radiator (cold
months only!!) to allow the engine to run 5 to 10 degrees warmer, just don't
block the trans cooler.
After i installed the 180 t-stat, I actually got a Check engine because of
this problem.

That method seems to work on the '97 but not later models.

Depending on how many miles are on the truck (like around 60K)...changing the
O2 sensor(s) is a good idea...but not required at anything below 50K. I had
replaced my MAP sensor (along with several other sensors...Crank Position
just
recently) and my mileage did go back up a bit...about 1mpg...nothing
substantial.

What did you modify on your intake? I hope you didn't cut the runner down
more
that 1.5"...that really messes up the mileage.
