Check your battery.
Run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in your next tank of fuel.

Beyond that, check your sensors, TPS, MAP, O2.
Check your ignition wires
Check your cap, rotor.
Check your coil.

Check for PCM codes.

Subject: DML: stalling Dakota

About 3 weeks ago I took my 98 V6 Auto Dakota to my dealer to have them look
at why it would stall upon restart after I had driven it for several miles.
The dealer found no error codes and replaces the IAS motor as a precaution.
I am still experiencing the same problem. This morning I drove the truck at
least 5 miles to get gas. I had to restart the Dak at least 3 time to get
it going again. The Dak would start up fine but as soon as I let go of the
key to return from the Start position to the Run position the engine would
lose RPMs and die. Sometimes the engine would continue to idle in the run
position but would die when I would shift from Park to Reverse or Drive. The
engine would always start up in the morning. It only died on me 1 or 2
times when I would back it out of my driveway. My only engine mods are a
QuickD throttle body, intake, and Autolite 3923's. Any idea what could be
wrong?

TIA,
Ken
