For those experiencing a popping noise from your Dak when turning, check
your rear leaf spring shackles. On my 98, there was a quarter inch gap
allowing the leaf spring to shift side to side when turning sharply. For
some reason the driver side shackle bolt was not tightened properly from the
factory as there was very little thread showing from the end of the bolt to
the nut. After getting the bolt tightened the popping sound went away. May
be a good idea to check them even if your are not experiencing a noise when
turning.
