Beth, I'm not sure what you'd call redline, but I can tell you that the 4.7L
starts to drop power rapidly after 5500 rpms. This is my observation after 3
dyno sessions. At the drag strip I usually get the quickest times shifting at
5100-5300 rpms (factory tach).
I would say the "horsepower" range of the 4.7L is generally between 3500 &
5100 rpms. The "Torque" range I'd say would be between 2700 and 4200 rpms.
Just my observations from dyno runs ;)

This may be a stupid question...but I'm curious. I was wondering
what the redline on my 2001 4.7L is? Usually there's some type of
orange/red section on the tach to let you know, but mine doesn't
have that. I was just curious.
Later!
