Love them to death. Header install was easy, Y pipe no fit. I got the
5008s which were incorrectly listed for my 98. They come with a Y pipe.
For a 98 I think the 5010 is the correct part. Anyway, I brought it to a
muffler shop, where they modified the 5008 Y pipe, and built a nice single
3" with a hi flow cat and a dump upstream of the cat. The stock exhaust,
open prior to the muffler with a gutted cat was good for 2 tenths in the
1/8, the headers with dump netted me another tenth. YES, you read that
right!!! I got about .28 by adding headers and a dump the mods at the time
were CalTracs, a 160 thermostat, and a dryer hose to get cooler air to the
STOCK airbox with a K&N filter. For the dump placement, its after the front
O2 sensor, and before the cat, the rear O2 is close to the cat. This way
when opened up, there is still enough flow through the cat to keep the rear
sensor happy, meaning no MIL light.
