As per the 98 FSM pg 21-110
1) shift tranny to neutral
2) raise vehicle (or slide under, take your pick)
3) remove gearshift and throttle levers from shaft of valve body manual
lever
4) disconnect wires at solenoid case connector (the picture shows this as
pointing upward)
5) set up your drain pan
6) remove pan and gasket ( get covered in the red stuff)
7) remove filter from valve body
8) remove bolts attaching valve body to tranny case
9) lower valve body enough to remove accumulator piston and springs
10) work manual lever shaft and electrical connector out of case
11) lower valve body, rotate valve body away from case, pull park rod out of
sprag, and remove the valve body

for reinstall:
it suggests to place the manual selector lever in the low position to make
replacing the park lock rod easier. also says to lube the electrical seals,
o-rings, and manual lever with vaseline to ease inserting through the
seals. also tighten valve body bolts alternately to avoid distortion

Hope this helps.
