best way to lower a gen II dak

Last year, i bought a '94 2 wheel drive std/short box dak, it was lowered
with blocks in the rear and the front springs have been cut, i don't know
much about lowering but i know that this can't be right, what is the
appropriate way to lower your truck and what companies make good products.
