Re-Inspection is free and he also entered it into the system so any one
else would see why he failed it in the first place. The airbox is no biggey
the pain the a** was having to put the stock pulley back on so I could get a
7 rib belt to fit.

Or...take it somewhere else. (Unless they won't charge you again for
replacing the airbox.)

(Whew...good thing Austin won't be hit with the Smog Nazi's until 2003.)

Okay get this!

Take the Dak in today to get it inspected and I must have come across
the
most anal retentive inspector in the state of Texas. I failed the
inspection and here is why. I modified the fresh air intake, FIPK from
K&N.
I've got a 96 so I got the two 14x3 open filter. (I wish I could
remember
if there was a CARB number for the kit.) The other reason, I've got an
ASP
under drive pulley on the crank. Need a 94.5" belt now and it only
comes in
6 rib when you get that size original bet was 7 and this is a safety
hazard
because the belt might slip off my steering pulley and I won't be able
to
control my vehicle.

Now to top it all off, on the emissions HC (ppm) standard is 220 my 3.9
is
putting out 22. The dude is sitting there telling me how incredibly
clean
my truck runs.

So looks like I'll be swapping out the pully and throwing the factory
air
box on to satisfy this prick.

Just needed to vent.

Thanks
Later
Kenneth
