Sorry to hear about your misfortune, and i hope tapping it out will take
care of your troubles. Lessons are learned one at a time, and i learned
that one myself about a year ago. (unfortunately on a friends vehicle :( )
I havent had to replace a timing chain scince then, but id i do, i will be
sure to drill a small hole in the center of a bolt thet fits in the front of
the crank so as not to do it again.
BTW when i did it, only the first 2 threads or so were screwed up and a tap
worked out for me, but i added a few pounds when i torqued it down because
the bolt threaded in a little tighter. good luck
