I just got done going through the same thing and found something interesting.
The newest Daks, on dealers' lots, use 881 bulbs which are readily available.
They either got in a production pinch or have changed to regular part numbers.
They work fine on mine and the intensity is the same as stock.

One of the bulbs in my foglights went out, filament busted. I drove
over to Autozone (my local car parts store) and they could not match the
bulb up to anthing in their stock. I'm thinking I'll go to the dealer
and hope the bulb is replaced under warranty, but what about down the
road after the warranty has gone out? the bulb has a GE part number of
maybe 898 or 896 (kinda hard to read). The manual says it's bulb 899,
but the bulb is not 899 for sure.
